Elisha and Lois Mitchell and Bertha Anderson are the featured House Hunters. These three generations of women (grandmother, Bertha, mother, Lois, and daughter, Elisha) are looking for a new house to share. For the last five years, they have been living in the suburbs far away from family, friends and jobs. They would like to move back into the city to shorten their commute and increase the amount of time they can spend at home. In addition, the women would like to find a house in a quiet neighborhood with a private master suite for Elisha and a nice back yard with room for Berth's vegetable garden.
Elisha and Lois Mitchell and Bertha Anderson set out with their realtor Jeanette Williams to look for a home that will satisfy the needs of all three. The group looks at home after home without finding anything worth seriously considering. Some of the houses are crossed off the list before the women even go inside. After a fruitless day of house hunting, the ladies head home without having found a home to buy.
Elisha and Lois Mitchell and Bertha Anderson (along with their realtor) are touring their 51st home. Ironically, this house is one they looked at months earlier. However, since their last visit, the sellers have made some significant improvements--changes that have made all the difference to the three house hunters. Finally, a home that has something for everyone! It's in a quiet neighborhood, which is want Lois wants, has a big bedroom for Elisha, and there's even room for Bertha's garden. After the tour, the group decides that this one is worth considering, and they head home to discuss it.
The trio discuss the merits of the last home they toured. They all agree that this is the one, and they decided to make an offer. Shortly thereafter, realtor Jeanette Williams calls with the good news--they got the house! After they're moved in, we catch up with the trio to see that they are loving their shorter commute and enjoying all that their new house has to offer.
