Kelly began making Pooch Pearls as a fund-raiser for her local Humane Society. She says that stringing colorful and fun beads to create the necklaces is a simple and fairly inexpensive project, great for the kids to help with. The necklaces are such a big hit that Kelly now creates not only the craft bead version for charity events, but she also makes necklaces with real pearls and stones for her pets to wear on special occasions.
