Buy several small transparent makeup bags in various colors (figure A). Organize the contents of your purse into the bags. For instance, put all makeup items in one bag.
Sort things such as postage stamps, pens and other like items into another bag (figure B). Use yet another bag for receipts and such.
Keep first-aid items and medications in a standard-size makeup bag.
Avoid buying a wallet that's the same color as your purse. It's easier to find if it's a different color. Also make sure your makeup bag and wallet are different colors so you can easily tell them apart.
Photocopy all of the credit cards in your purse in case you lose it and have to track down all your cards. Also, carry only the minimum number of credit cards you need with you.
Use an old dish rack as a purse organizer.
