Additional storage space can increase the usable area in a room. Here's how to install some handy shelves.
  1. We used a stud finder to locate the wall studs where the shelf brackets were to be mounted.

    * Shelves are sturdiest when the brackets are anchored directly to wall studs, but you can use anchor bolts if no wall studs are available--just be sure to follow the manufacturer's weight limits.

  2. We marked the location for our brackets and then checked them with a level.
  3. After we had all of our brackets installed we placed the shelves onto the brackets and secured them in place.
