Steps:

1. Remove brackets and disassemble existing shelf or shelves. Use the pry bar to loosen and remove support boards for old shelves (figure A) and remove all nails.

2. Measure the closet and mark attachment points for new mounting bar. Mount the bar at the desired height and use the level to make sure everything's on the level (figure B).

3. Attach track with screws using power drill.

4. Assemble shelf structure (figure C) and hang it on the track using the slots in the back (figure D).

5. Build the rest of the organizer according to the manufacturer's directions. Most organizers have a center section that must be assembled with a couple of fixed shelves, but the other parts can often be assembled in a variety of ways. Arrange the shelves, clothes rods and racks to best meet your needs (figure E).
