Materials:
branding kit with wood burning tool and tips
woodcrafter's markers
1/4" birch plywood (16" x 20")
sandpaper
ruler
pencil
clear acrylic sealer
tracing paper
paper
pliers
1 ceramic tile
family photographs
glue
Steps :
1. Lightly sand plaque and remove dust. Pencil a 1-1/2-inch border around the edges .
2. Draw a tree on paper (minus the leaves) and trace it onto the plywood.
3. Decide where the photos will go and mark desired number of 2" x 3" boxes around the tree.
4. Attach script point tip to wood burning tool and heat for about five minutes . Outline the tree, photo boxes and the outer border.
5. Attach shading tip to shade the tree. Tip: There's no need to unplug wood burner when changing tips. Use pliers to remove hot tips and set them onto a ceramic tile to cool. Attach the next tip with pliers and continue working when hot.
6. Attach corner leaf branding stamp to create leaves all over the tree and around the boxes. Remove tip and attach straight leaf stamp for between/around corner leaf stampings.
7.Attach various insect stamps and randomly apply them within the outer border .
8. Stain tree, border and branded insects as desired with markers and let cure for 48 hours.
9. Make copies of photos and glue in place.
10. Apply one to two coats of sealer for protection, allowing it to dry between layers.
