This bedroom has been taken over by mounds of clutter. Pro organizer Liz Witts is enlisted to help turn it into a peaceful retreat.
Cyndi and Danny Soto recently moved to Washington, D.C. to change careers. They love their new house except for their bedroom. The space is 14 feet long by 16 feet wide, with a tiny closet--much smaller than their last place. Professional Organizer Liz Witts comes onboard to get this room in shipshape condition.

Witts begins by helping the Sotos sort through all that clutter, including their books, clothes and photos, pushing them to purge things along the way.

Once that's done, she reveals her plan to replace the large bed with a smaller, more practical one. She also wants to place it on risers to make room for storage underneath.

Topping off the to-do list is the installation of a new shelving system in the closet and along one wall as well as the addition of some new custom-made furniture pieces, fresh paint (in complementary peanut butter and jelly colors) and accessories. Take a look at the results below.

Before: The large bed and surrounding furniture pieces were hidden by mounds of clothes and clutter, including a wide variety of books, photographs and boxes filled with random items from the Sotos' recent move.

After: Witts convinced the Sotos to get a smaller bed to make it easier to maneuver about the room. She also had a new shelving system created that provides plenty of drawer space and painted the walls rich complementary colors.
