Jenni's Room

Jenni's room is much the same, with tons of clothes all over the place and knickknacks scattered about. She has a unique sense of style, but her stylish expressions are crowding her room--from a dancing baby to a zebra comforter that doubles as a closet door. She has to pull down the comforter, then push back the curtains underneath just to get inside.

Jenni's room is so packed there is virtually no bare space. Even the ceiling is cluttered with posters and other decorative items.

Her closet needs the most help. It's crammed with clothes, and the bottom half is blocked by the bed.

Designer Michelle Ashley comes to the rescue. She plans to have the room brightly painted to show off Jenni's fun personality and redo the closet area with custom shelves and curtains, to start.

The new curtains add a softer touch to the room.

Jenni's old bed is replaced with this stylish futon, which doubles as a seating area and helps establish the feel of a guest room for when Jenni is away at college.

Fun contemporary shelving holds small goldfish tanks and adds dimension and a point of interest to the room. The large neon-green circle painted in middle of the wall helps, too.

These light wooden cabinets complement the room's style and add functionality. It serves as both a wall unit for storage as well as an entertainment center.

Ashley wanted to keep as much of Jenni's style as possible and that includes her poster collection. This new organizing system includes a magnetic picture holder that hangs from ceiling. Best of all, it doesn't damage the walls like tacking up posters does.
