Learn how to decorate and organize a nursery with the simple tips below.
Louise Kurzeka explains how to efficiently organize a nursery.

  • Hang a mesh wire rack above the changing table. You can place all sorts of things on it or even attach bins, shelves, and clips. Use it to store things like wipes and rattles.

  • For the table itself, put open shelves underneath it and use baskets to organize things. You could fill one with diapers, one with blankets, and one with clothing and towels.

  • Decorate the wall above the table by hanging up lettering a curtain rod and letting that spells out the child's name.

  • Another great tool is a hanging shoe bag. You can put this on the back of a door and keep all sorts of small items in it. The other great thing about this is that you can take it from room to room as the baby moves around the house.

  • When we turn to the closet, the first thing to do is take out all the adult clothes and install in a storage system that has shelves and some smaller hanging space. This is also a great place for the extra diapers and other bulky items.

  • Place toys that the child has yet to grow into in the closet on the floor.

  • Keep a box or bin on the floor of the closet and place all of the items the baby has grown out of inside it. This way it is ready to go when the time comes to donate.
