This purse is made from inexpensive materials like a map, self-adhesive paper, fabric and ball chain.
Here's a fun idea for making a purse out of a map.

Materials:

cloth map
shelf paper
sewing machine
cardboard
lining fabric
fabric glue
four grommets
ball chain

Steps:

  1. Iron on interfacing to the back of the map you want to use.

  2. Cover the printed side with shelf paper to protect it. Sew in a lining.

  3. Fold the map twice, bringing the bottom piece up first, then folding over the top enough to partially cover the bottom flap. Sew the sides together.

  4. Cut a piece of cardboard to fit the bottom of the purse and cover it with the lining fabric. Glue it to the bottom.

  5. For the handle use four grommets and some ball chain. Install two grommets about an inch apart in the top back corners of the purse. String a loop of the ball chain through in the desired handle length.
