  • Freshen up a little red wagon with some spray paint and use it as a bookcase or plant stand (figure A).

  • Use letters and other pieces from board games to decorate picture frames (figure B).

  • Use miniature spoons as fashion accessories (figure C). Just buy some pin backs at a craft store and attach to spoons with glue to make a unique brooch. Make sure that the glue works on metal.

  • Mount old doorknobs to a wooden plaque and use it as a towel hook, hat rack or coat rack.

  • Collect a few interesting types of doorknobs and arrange them in a bowl as a decoration (figure D).

  • An old decorative ceiling-light socket can be used as a candleholder (figure E).

LI>Use old chandelier crystals to decorate Christmas trees (figure F).

  • Old earrings can be used as tacks for message boards.

  • Talk about your shabby chic! Turn an old can into a rustic flower vase. If the can leaks, place flowers in a jar and set inside the can.

  • Look for wild animal statues to use in the garden.
