Artist Skot Davaly created this unusual table for the bathroom out of scrap wood and a salvaged mannequin.
Materials:

old hair dryer
stand (metal screen)
clock mechanism
plastic wire nut

Steps :

  1. Remove the screws that attach the exhaust screen to the hair dryer, and then remove the screws that hold the dryer together. Remove the heating element and fan blade to make room for the clock mechanism. Leave the electrical wiring because it will connect to the clock mechanism later.
  2. Attach the clock mechanism by pushing the clock wires through the opening in the rear casing and secure them to the exposed wires of the hairdryer's electrical cord by twisting them together. For safety reasons, be sure it's unplugged before working with the wiring. For proper insulation, cap the wires off with a plastic wire nut and put the dryer back together.
  3. Attach the clock hands to the face of the dryer by placing them on the exposed bolt of the clock mechanism. Use a nut to hold the hands in place.
  4. Screw the metal screen onto the handle to form a base (a filter from a hot tub valve was featured because it matches the finish of the hairdryer).
