Recycle computer disks that come in the mail into a modern frame perfect for the home office.
Materials:

CD-Rom disks
Plexi-Glass cutter, rotary tool or power saw with fine blade
glue for plastic and wood
base paint
four 1" x 4" flat poplar strips
corner braces and mending plates
picture frame hanging hardware and wire

Steps:

  1. Cut disks in half. Lay the pieces out to form desired design and choose the frame size needed.
  2. Cut wood strips to size (it's not necessary to miter the corners) and attach with corner braces and mending plates.
  3. Base-coat frame in desired color and let dry.
  4. Glue disks in place.
