Recycle an old box into a useful ribbon holder.
Materials:

shoebox
paint, craft paper or fabric
paintbrush
wood dowel
grommet pliers and grommets
pencil

Steps:

  1. Paint or cover a shoebox as desired. Cut a dowel to fit inside the shoebox lengthwise.
  2. Thread each spool of ribbon onto the dowel and wedge it in place inside.
  3. Mark where the holes for the ribbon will go and remove the ribbon and dowel . Using grommet pliers, punch one hole for each spool into the side of the box, and then apply grommets to give the holes a finished appearance.
  4. Replace the dowel and ribbon, making sure that all the ribbon is running in the same direction.
  5. Thread the ribbon through the holes and set the lid back in place.
