Ken Munley is flying from Pueblo, Colorado, to Reno, Nevada, to take part in a special birthday celebration. His mother, Evelyn Munley, is turning 90.
Though Munley has been back to his hometown occasionally since moving away, it has been nearly 10 years since he has been reunited with his eight sisters and their mother at the same time.
In preparation for the trip, Munley's wife, Alice, who is also from Reno and even knew Ken in high school, pulls out the secret scrapbook she kept about him. It turns out that she had a crush on him before they even started dating.
The couple are next shown in Reno, where they meet up with their son Mickey and his wife. The foursome then drive to the home of one of Ken's sisters, Kathy, where the birthday girl also lives. When they reach the house, the remaining sisters rush out to greet the newcomers and exchange hugs and kisses. Munley makes it in to greet his mother, then the whole clan sits down to an early dinner, peppered with lots of laughter and storytelling.
On Saturday morning, Munley heads to his old high school, where he has arranged to meet up with one of his boyhood friends, Jimmy McGuire, so that they can relive their glory days together on the football field. The two walk around the field and reminisce about big games from the past. Then it's on to Munley's childhood home, where a remark is made about how much smaller everything looks now that they are older.
The following day shows the Munleys and their son revisiting the church in which Alice and Ken were married. They move on to the site of the birthday celebration, which has such a large turnout that five cakes were required to feed everyone. A family photo is taken to commemorate the event.
