Kid-crafts expert John E. Thomas demonstrates how to make fun stickers at home with just gelatin and water.

Scratch-and-Sniff Stickers

Materials:

flavored gelatin
water
small paintbrush
images from magazines
finished coloring-book images
unsweetened drink mix

Steps:

  1. Dissolve a small amount of flavored gelatin with water. Brush liquid on the back of images that you've cut from magazines. Let dry overnight.

  2. Lick the back of the images or wet with a small amount of water, then apply as you would a normal peel-and-stick sticker.

  3. Make scratch-and-sniff stickers by painting finished coloring-book images with a mixture of unsweetened drink mix and water. For example, use pineapple-flavored drink mix on a pineapple, so that when it dries and is scratched, it will smell like pineapple.
