Pencils--Make custom pencil caps (figure A) out of paper in any color or pattern with a die cutter. Lay the paper flat before cutting, then decorate it with silver and/or gold markers (figure B). Die-cut the paper, fold it and place it on the pencil. It will slide into place with precut holes and rest on the eraser.

Lunchbox--Using a die-cutter, cut letters out of self-adhesive paper and adhere them to the surface of a clear, plastic lunchbox (figure C). Decorate the letters with the child's favorite stickers.

Tote bags and backpacks--Let your child pick a design or character to use to decorate the item. Cut letters from either iron-on fabric or regular fabric with additional adhesive background and affix them to the bag with a warm iron (figure D).

Bookmarks--Personalize ready-made bookmarks with a die-cutter.
