Details: Sandor Nagyszalanczy has a collection of approximately 2,000 pop-up books,also known as movable books, that represent the mid-1800s to present day. Values range in price from several hundred dollars for vintage books to $15 for newer books. The earliest book in his collection was made in 1900 and is titled What a Surprise. It was called a mechanical book and is valued between $3,000 to $4,000. Reproductions are highly sought-after because many of these books no longer exist. When buying a pop-up book make sure moving parts are in good working condition with no loose pieces of paper.
