The Carol Duvall Show camera crew visits marionette maker and retired flamenco dancer Pablo Rodarte. Once dedicated solely to his dance, he now has time to teach the dance he loves to children and to pursue other creative interests--namely, making elaborately detailed marionette angels.

Inspiration for the marionettes came to Pablo in a dream after viewing a collection of 17th- and 18th-century paintings that featured fierce, musketeer-type angels called The Militia of God. He was quite taken with the "bodyguards of Christ" featured in the paintings and had a dream that the angels were marionettes. Rodarte, a self-taught artist, developed the process of making the marionettes using trial and error. He incorporates papier mache, hot glue, paint and gold leafing to help bring these handsome angels come to life.
