The Carol Duvall Show camera crew visits Nick Barone at his home in San Mateo, Calif. Barone builds foam hand puppets. The puppets are Muppet-like in construction with a distinctively different look.

Barone never took lessons on how to build puppets, so he created his own unique way of making the life-like creatures. All of his puppets are hand made. The only machinery he uses is a sewing machine. Using foam sheets and adhesive, Barone makes the shapes and then covers them in stretchy fabrics to create the "skin." He creates the puppet by adding features such as eyes, clothes, claws and teeth.

Barone shows different stages that the puppets goes through before they come to life. See finished puppets, including some of those left over from Barone's childhood, as well as a few that he is currently working on.
