Entertaining expert Dana Christine shares tips for decorating the table in a rustic style.

  • Use a craft tin as an invitation. Be sure to round out the edges, and use a padded envelope to send it.

  • Decorate with appliqués, even using them as place cards.

  • Set out place mate that have a woodsy look.

  • Decorate glassware with paint pens to match the placemats.

  • Tie ribbon around a pine cone to use as a napkin ring.

  • Hot glue twigs that you've cut to votive candleholders.

  • Place a branch in a flowerpot with soil and stick marshmallows all over it. Now you have a cute little tree for a centerpiece.
