Decorate tables by simply tossing out some trinkets that fit the theme. For example, dress up a headband by hot gluing silk flowers to a nice band of fabric (far right).
Entertainment expert Dana Christine shares her some of her most festive ideas.

  • Make an invitation with construction paper and '70s expressions painted all over the front. You can even add a medallion for the inside that guests can wear to the party.

  • Fondue is a fun dish for parties. You could do one for vegetables and meats and another for desserts. Place each set in different rooms. You can hide the chords from the pots by cutting a small slit in the tablecloth you are using and sliding the chord through.

  • How about tie-dying napkins? Just take a white cotton napkin, soak it in cold water, then lay it out on a plastic tray. Twist clockwise, pour the dye over the fabric and let it hang dry.
