Grilled Fruit
Dennis Stewart, grilling expert and frequent guest on All In Good Taste, says, "People aren't just grilling on the weekends anymore. It's almost become a national pastime. America has become one of the grilling capitals of the world."

Impress your family and friends with a fun way to prepare vegetables — the kebab. It is not only a fun way to prepare meat, but it is also a colorful, fanciful and easy way to grill vegetables. Here's a general recipe for kebabs.

Ingredients:

cherry tomatoes
zucchini
green peppers
onions
red or yellow peppers

Preparation:

Cut vegetables into firm bite-size chunks. Thread chunks onto skewer. Grill over low heat until tomatoes begin to split.

How About Fruit?

Apples, bananas, pears and pineapple, taste great on the grill. Just cut the fruit in half and dip in a mixture of orange juice, lime juice, brown sugar and a little ginger juice. Sprinkle some cinnamon and nutmeg on the moistened fruit. Grill over a medium or low setting until warm. Cut into bite-size pieces and serve warm.

Lisa Valdini's Tip:

The host of All In Good Taste suggests that a great way to add flavor to grilled fare is to use moistened herbs and sprinkle them on the charcoal or lava rocks in a grill. The wet herbs give off a smoky flavor.
