Artist Craig Nutt of Nashville gets his artistic inspiration from his garden, and the results are some incredibly whimsical and popular "vegetable furniture" pieces.

Figure A--Artist Craig Nutt says when he first thought of making wood furniture with vegetable themes, he considered it a stupid idea. The ideas kept coming, though, and he says he has developed a vocabulary with vegetables.

Figure B--Collectors covet Nutt's furniture, and examples of his work are even on display in the Smithsonian Institution.

Figure C--The "Corncorde" measures 10-feet long with a 10-foot "shuckspan." The sculpture is on display in the international concourse of Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and was commissioned for the 1996 Olympic games.
