Drying Fruit

Carol Duvall Show : Episode CDS-250 -- More Projects »
Suzanne McNeill demonstrates two different ways to dry fruit for craft projects. This includes oven and outdoor drying. She also gives tips on how to slow browning and retain the fruit's color (dip them in lemon juice) and keep it from molding.

Steps:
  1. Slice apples thinly.
  2. Put lemon juice in a bowl and dip apples in.
  3. Spray non-stick spray on cookie sheets.
  4. Cook for 4-6 hours at 170 degrees. Fruit can also dry in sun or in a food dehydrator. When drying oranges, be sure to pat out most of the moisture.
