Yule log candles.
Previous: Natural Glow
Tiny tea lights nestle inside natural logs to create a warm and rustic glow.

Materials:

Pieces of 3- or 4-inch diameter wood cut into lengths measuring 3" - 6"
Drill and 1-1/2" drill bit
Tea lights in metal cups

Cut logs into different heights. Be sure the logs are cut straight and will stand up securely and remain level. Put logs into a vice. Using the 1-1/2" drill bit, drill into the log about 1" deep into the wood. Be sure the hole is level. Clean away any sawdust, then check to be sure log will sit upright without tipping over. Place tea candle (in metal holder) into the hole, making sure the metal surrounds the entire candle. Safety note: Tea lights burn quickly. Never leave a candle unattended.
