Floral designer Ardith Beveridge shows how to make and grow an herb wreath.
Materials:
organic fertilizers
herbs of choice
grapevine wreath
wire
brown florist tape
moss
ribbon
Steps:
- Use organic fertilizers since you are going to eat this wreath eventually.
- Use a grapevine wreath as the base, then pick out the herbs you like.
- Make a loop out of some wire to use as the hanger. Tape it with brown florist tape to will prevent it from scratching the surface on which it will hang.
- Attach the pots to the wreath, once again starting with a taped wire.
- Run the wire through the drainage hole in the bottom and twist that onto the wreath.
- Pot the herbs and cover the soil with moss.
- Decorate with ribbon. Tie a bow, then use another piece to attach it to the wreath.
- Water regularly.
- When the herbs have grown, dry them out by attaching them to another wreath. Hang so that the herbs dry straight.
