  • When cooking for a flea-market party, pot on a vintage apron to get you in the mood (figure A).

  • Use vintage table linens and mismatched vintage hand towels as napkins (figure B).

  • Use antique drawer pulls as place cards. Simply write the name of your guest on it with a dry erase marker (figure C).

  • Old magazines make great place mats and as well as conversation pieces (figure D).

  • Use antique keys and pocketwatches as napkin rings (figure E).

  • Place a piece of sod in an apple bushel basket and insert tall, silk grass and silk field flowers. Add a croquet ball and peg, and you've got a lovely table centerpiece.

  • Place a candle inside an antique minnow bucket. Rest an old fish net on it for an added touch.

  • An antique toy dumpster or pickup truck makes a great candy dish.

  • Hang a bucket full of nuts on an antique water pump (figure F).

  • Fill an antique grocery cart with produce and set a salad bowl on top (figure G). Store salad plates below. This works out great when you have limited space on your buffet table.
