When cooking for a flea-market party, pot on a vintage apron to get you in the mood (figure A).
Use vintage table linens and mismatched vintage hand towels as napkins (figure B).
Use antique drawer pulls as place cards. Simply write the name of your guest on it with a dry erase marker (figure C).
Old magazines make great place mats and as well as conversation pieces (figure D).
Use antique keys and pocketwatches as napkin rings (figure E).
Place a piece of sod in an apple bushel basket and insert tall, silk grass and silk field flowers. Add a croquet ball and peg, and you've got a lovely table centerpiece.
Place a candle inside an antique minnow bucket. Rest an old fish net on it for an added touch.
An antique toy dumpster or pickup truck makes a great candy dish.
Hang a bucket full of nuts on an antique water pump (figure F).
Fill an antique grocery cart with produce and set a salad bowl on top (figure G). Store salad plates below. This works out great when you have limited space on your buffet table.
