Pet expert Arden Moore explains that not all leftover table scraps are healthy for your dog. Instead, she suggests some healthy homemade dishes.
Top 3 Dog-Food No-No's
- Do not feed your dog onions because they contain sulfur that can damage a dog's red blood cells.
- No raw bones of any kind--they're a choking hazard, can splinter and injure your pet, and can also harbor germs like salmonella.
- Chocolate causes upset stomach.
Good Alternatives
- carrots--nutritious and help clean teeth
- nylon or other synthetic bones
- cookies made with carob chips instead of chocolate
* Note: Feed your dog two to three small meals each day rather than one large meal.
