Place a quartered onion in a bowl of water and set in a freshly painted room (figure A). The paint fumes will dissipate much more quickly.

Clean Paintbrush

To quickly clean a paintbrush, place the brush on a paper bag and use a putty knife as a squeegee to quickly press out the paint (figure B). This eliminates the need to push the paint back and forth through the brush with running water.
