TIPical Mary Ellen host Mary Ellen Pinkham explains how to properly wash windows.

Materials:

lemon dish soap
cleaning caddy
scrubber with a sleeve
squeegee with a rubber flush
terrycloth towel

Steps:

  1. Squirt lemon dish soap into one side of your cleaning caddy, then add about a quart of warm water.

  2. Dampen the scrubber with the soap-and-water mixture. Wipe down the windows.

  3. At the top of the window make a side wipe with the squeegee. Wipe off the squeegee with a terrycloth towel.

  4. Squeegee the rest of the window with downward strokes, making sure to wipe it off with the towel after each swipe.

  5. If water drips in the corners, simply wipe off with the towel.

  6. If there are any remaining marks, simply wipe down with the towel.
