TIPical Mary Ellen host Mary Ellen Pinkham visits a homeowner to offer tips for keeping a house neat and tidy with short and sweet daily cleaning projects.
- Clean through out the week rather than trying to get everything done on one "cleaning day." Simply finding 15 minutes each day to clean will prevent you from having to waste an entire day cleaning.
- Clean as you go. If you make a mess in the sink in the morning, just clean it up real quick. One way to keep a sink clean is by using liquid hand soap in a pump. It's much less messy than a bar of soap sitting in a dish.
- Just clean what is dirty. If you see a smudge on the refrigerator just wipe away the smudge. Don't go wild and clean the entire refrigerator.
- If you find you have a few minutes to spare go throughout the house and do some light dusting.
- Microwaves and the front of the oven can be quickly cleaned if you find a little extra time.
- Get rid of any little knickknacks for which you don't really have a use. It's much easier than cleaning them.
