Toaster Oven
Materials:
pastry brush
soapy water
baking soda
toothbrush
antibacterial glass cleaner with ammonia
fingernail-polish remover
Steps:
- Remove trays and soak in soapy water.
- Brush crumbs out with a pastry brush, and open the trap door to shake out remaining crumbs.
- Wipe down interior with a soapy washcloth.
- Clean the glass front with glass cleaner.
- Use nail-polish remover to get melted plastic off the top.
- For tough stains, use a toothbrush and baking soda.
- For the toaster, dump crumbs through the trap door and brush off remaining crumbs with a pastry brush. Clean the cord with a damp washcloth.
Coffeemaker
Materials:
pint of vinegar
diluted bleach solution
baking soda
wire brush
Steps:
- To clean the coffee maker and get fresh-tasting coffee, pour a pint of vinegar into the water reservoir.
- Run for 30 seconds so the vinegar has a chance to get into the system, then turn off and let sit for 30 minutes.
- Turn back on and finish the cycle.
- Run cool tap water through the cycle twice to completely rinse out vinegar
- Clean the filter with a diluted bleach solution, which is also wonderful for getting coffee stains off porcelain sinks.
- To remove burn stains in the bottom of the glass pot, scrub with baking soda and a wire brush.
