For red juice spills on carpet, sprinkle a liberal amount of salt on the spill as quickly as possible. The salt will soak up the juice and form a paste, allowing the stain to be scraped away with a spoon.

TIPical Mary Ellen host Mary Ellen Pinkham shares ideas for removing the top five stains made by children: gum, grass, ketchup, crayons and red juice.

  • Spray the gum with cooking spray, allow it to sit for awhile, then scrape off with a plastic scraper. This also works on gum that is stuck in hair.

  • Treat grass stains by first making sure that the clothes are machine washable. Sponging with plain water, then sponge with alcohol and toss in the washing machine.

  • For ketchup stains, first wet the stain, then make a thick paste out of powdered laundry detergent and water. Work the paste into the stain, and leave a thick coat of paste on the stain. Let it sit for awhile, then use a sponge to rub the stain away.

  • On walls with a vinyl covering, wipe away crayon marks by rubbing them with a little bit of a spray lubricant. Make sure the wall is washable first.

  • For red juice spills on carpet, sprinkle a liberal amount of salt on the spill as quickly as possible. The salt will soak up the juice and form a paste, allowing the stain to be scraped away with a spoon.
