Here's how to remove water stains from furniture with denatured alcohol*:
1. Always practice on an unobtrusive spot first.
2. Add a bit of denatured alcohol (available at hardware stores) to a thick towel. Dont soak the fabric.
3. Very lightly rub the towel over the spot until it disappears.
4. Quickly, while the wood is still wet, rub the area with lemon oil to re-condition the wood.
* Denatured alcohol burns through the layer of varnish to remove a water stain, but it must be done very carefully because it could damage the wood.
