Change the World. Start at Home.

Anacostia is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. Its decaying downtown, which is beginning to be revitalized with construction of some office buildings, is located at the intersection of Good Hope Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. It is the most famous neighborhood in the Southeast quadrant of Washington, located east of the Anacostia River, – and one of the District’s Main Street communities. While the Anacostia neighborhood is in dire need of extensive rehabilitation, this community revitalization effort would help clean up and maintain Anacostia Park and River, repair elderly housing in the neighborhood and improve a community education center that serves at risk children.
