Rosa F. Keller Center and Library How am I Green?

Around the block from Regina Payton’s home sits a once elegant landmark, the Rosa F. Keller Center and Library.  Built in 1918 the former home was designated a historic site in 1986.  Soon thereafter an annex was built to house a local library.  Katrina put a halt on the library’s growth when the entire collection was flooded and the facilities were severely damaged.  The neighborhood association, Broadmoor Improvement Association, hopes to fund a proposed “Education Corridor” initiative, turning the historic house into a community center with a coffee shop, video conferencing room, computer center and business center. Beyond the home, residents of Broadmoor will have access to a fully restored public library.  HGTV and Rebuilding Together would like to aid in the completion of this community supported project.

How am I Green? How am I Historic? - The Rosa F. Keller Center is housed in a historic home, built in 1918.  The nearby Andrew H. Wilson Elementary School was built in 1922 shortly after.
