Home of Regina Payton

In a city where devastation is widespread, it is difficult to find a starting point for helping the community rebuild.  For 34 year-old Regina Payton, her hope is that recovery will start with the basics.  Regina was raised in her family home in the Broadmoor neighborhood of New Orleans until the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.  When the hurricane struck, Regina and her brother were evacuated to a neighboring community where they have been residing ever since.  An active member of the Broadmoor neighborhood association, Regina anxiously awaits the opportunity to return to her beloved home and community.  Located near the Rosa F. Keller Center and Library (see Educational Facility link) and across from the local playground, the Payton home is highly visible.  Its repair and Regina’s return will symbolize a promise of hope and restoration that is so desperately needed in New Orleans.  HGTV and its partners aim to restore the home to a semblance of its former self.  Regina’s wish list of improvements ultimately includes a safe and welcoming home for her and her family.
