The Darcus Family has lived in their 100 year-old house for over 40 years and have raised their children in this home. Currently the household consists of an elderly brother, two sisters and a disabled son of one of the sisters. All have serious health conditions that require frequent doctor visits. Their limited funds are spent on basic needs and medications, leaving little left over for home maintenance or improvements. Over the years the house has deteriorated and is in a state of disrepair, making it uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. Relocation to another home would be extremely difficult and the family wishes to spend their remaining years together. HGTV and its partners hope to help the Darcus Family repair their family home, maintain their mutual support system and live out their years in comfort and safety.
