OK, so some of us are just a little over-the-top about our pets. This slim pair of books--Real Food for Dogs and Real Food for Cats--caters nicely to the slavishly dedicated dog and cat lover with a sense of fun.

Each offers 50 "vet-approved" recipes for Bowser or Fluffy, some with "tandem" recipes that allow you to cook a people version and then adjust a portion to make it fit for Fido.

So light a little candle for the doggie dish and make up a batch of Pork and Rice Stir Fry or fete kitty with special Tuna Cakes. There are even recipes for dogs or cats on special diets, for pet birthday parties and for senior pets.
