Franciscan Ware

Collectible Treasures : Episode COL-1213 -- More Projects »
Collector: Jane Hurley

Location: Cow Palace Antique Show

Details: Hurley appreciates Franciscan Ware for the high quality that has stood the test of time. Desert Rose is the largest selling pattern in the history of Franciscan Ware and made its debut in 1941. Shortly after, the Ivy pattern was produced. The popular California Poppy pattern is harder to find as well as the Fresh Fruit and Wildflower patterns. In the 1930s Franciscan Ware became ovenproof, and today all pieces are microwave safe. Franciscan Ware is being marketed today, so buyer beware! New pieces are being sold as old pieces.
