Here's a way to kick start your collection: These Swift peanut-butter glass jars made from the early 1950s until the mid-'70s are worth from $5 to $300 today. Dorothy jars are valued at $5 to $15, while the Wicked Witch has been known to fetch from $100 to $300.
The Wizard of Oz has long been a subject of interest for collectors. When it comes to special Oz collections, there's no place like the home of Jay Scarfone and William Stillman. Their home holds one of the world's largest and most complete collections of memorabilia from the famous movie, The Wizard of Oz.

Want to acquire your own Oz stuff? If your pockets are deep enough, how about an original movie poster from the U.S. movie release? These are marked "Litho USA" and can be worth $10,000 or more when in mint condition. Beware of reproduction posters because they're only worth about $5. A more affordable option is to start with contemporary collectibles like those seen on the studio set. They are typically available at toy stores.
