We checked out the World War II pins and medals of Tracy Parrish at the Big One flea market in Memphis.

Today, pins and medals are popular with military collectors.

Part of the reason for that popularity is the patriotism these pieces symbolize.

Sterling-silver wings from World War II are a favorite because of the nostalgia and increasing value associated with them.

Gunner wings are symbolized by the bullet in the center. The cost for this pin is $65.

The navigator wings are priced at $65 as well.

Discs of brass worn on the lapels of enlisted men are also collectible. They're priced at $6 because they are so common.

American medals sell for varied prices, depending on condition and type of medal.
