Host Ralph Kovel travels to the Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, N.C., to see antique sample tins. These miniature tins date back to the 1890s and were given away at the general store so customers could sample products such as baking powder and cocoa. Today, they can cost up to several hundred dollars each!

All tins seen here were originally given away as free samples.

This one is marked at $235. The tins held everything from talcum ...

... to baking powder. This one is very rare and sells for $285.

This tin held cocoa.

This one held coffee.

The smaller the tin, the bigger the price because they're so desirable. This one is not much larger than a dime and is marked at $135.

This cocoa tin by the Rawleigh company sells for $275.

Condition along with rarity determines the value of the tin.
