Carnival watchband

Materials:

watch face
two strands of size 11/0 seed beads
"F" weight silk
four twisted wire needles
bracelet clasp
assorted glass beads
eight clamshell-style knot covers
watch crystal cement

Figure C
1. Cut a length of silk thread about two feet long. Thread a needle and make a knot in both ends. Add a knot cover (figure A).

2. Start stringing your beads onto the thread until half of the thread is covered (figure B).

3. Run the thread underneath one spring bar and behind the watch face. Add seed beads to cover the area behind the face (figure C). Run the remaining thread underneath the other spring bar.

4. Continue stringing beads to match the beads on the first half of the band.

5. Tie a knot at the end of the string and cement the knot. Add a knot cover.

6. Repeat steps 1 through 5 with three other pieces of thread.

7. Gather the four knot covers at each end of the beaded thread and thread them through a jump ring. Attach the clasp to the jump rings at each end (figure D).

Materials:

watch face
22-gauge jeweler's wire
two, three-hole rhinestone separator bars
rhinestone clasp
eight emerald green 10 mm x 7 mm crystals
two eight-millimeter round black crystals
eight chain tabs
12, four-millimeter Aurora Borealis crystals and two black, four-millimeter crystals
six tube-shaped beads to fit over the spring bars
40 silver metal Heishi beads
two jump rings

Steps:

1. Attach chain tabs and tube beads to the spring bar (figure E).

2. Using the same process as in steps 1 through 5 for the carnival watchband, attach beads in a desired pattern, incrementally adding separator bars between sets of beads (figure F). Continue until the watch band is complete.

3. Add a clasp to the watch band.
