Project designed by Barbara Burnett
Materials:
20-gauge silver wire
seven purple beads
eight silver 6-mm jump rings
wire jig
Steps:
1. Choose eight nails on a jig to form a square (figure A).
2. Measure a half inch from one end of a seven-inch piece of wire and form a loop.
3. Place the wire on the jig and loop the wire around the nails moving counter clockwise (figure B).
4. Cut the wire after the last loop and remove it from the jig.
5. Bring the beginning wire tail up through last loop and fold the tail toward the center.
6. Thread on a bead and thread the tail down through bottom loop.
7. Bend the tail up and over the edge of shape forming a loop (figure C).
8. Repeat steps 1 through 7 to make seven double-cloverleaf shapes with beads.
9. Make two double-cloverleaf shapes without beads. Spiral the tails and bend them over to cover center of the clover leaf shapes.
10. Connect one of the loops on the clover leaf to another loop on another cloverleaf by using a jump ring.
11. Add a hook clasp and two S-hooks. Attach the clasp to one end and the S-hooks to other end.
Tips:
- Make your own jig with nails and a small board (figure D). Snip the ends of the nails off in order to remove finished wire shapes.
- Tape ends of pliers to prevent marking the wire (figure E).
- Always open jump rings from side to side.
