Project designed by Lacey Oldham.
Materials:
one acrylic piece - Planet Rubber
clear-drying glue - Art Institute
glitter - Art Institute
permanent ink, thick is better - ZimPrints - available at local rubber stamp or art stores
small image stamps
heat gun
glue
pin back
paint brush - size will depend on desired stripe width
piece of paper
Steps:
1. Make sure the frosted side of the acrylic piece is free of dirt. Stamp the image on the frosted side of the acrylic with permanent ink (figure A). Heat set with a heat gun.
2. Paint the back of the acrylic piece with clear-drying glue (figure B). Either paint a stripe on the back or paint the entire back of the acrylic piece.
3. Sprinkle glitter generously on the wet glue (figure C). If making stripes, glitter one corner first with one color and then move to the next section with additional colors. Tap off excess glitter before going to a new color and return excess to the jar.
4. Let dry.
5. Adhere the pin back to the pin with glue (figure D).
