Instructions by Karen Thomas.

Materials:

5 silver, 5 black/silver speckled & 2 red Mizuhiki paper cords
small-tipped scissors
1/2" clear tape
glue

Steps:

1. Cut the silver and black speckled cords in half (to 18 inches each).

2. Hold the black/silver lengths together and bend at center, forming a loop. Tape tightly 2 inches from the looped end.

3. Bend the second group of silver cords, forming a loop, and lay this loop over the first, near the taped area (figure A).

4. Bring the cord ends around the first loop and up through the bottom of it ( figure B).

5. Tape the second group 2 inches from the loop end, forming a square knot (figure C).

6. Bring the ends of each group around, forming a circle and overlapping them 1 inch (figure D). Tape down.

7. Use one full red cord to make a 1-inch-long finishing knot around the taped area (figure E).

8. Cut the other red cord in half and use one to make a 1/2-inch-long finishing knot over the taped area of each loop (figure F).

9. Apply glue on ends. Trim excess cord with small-tipped scissors.

Try different color combinations for:
