This Victorian-era safe is something Ralph and Terry Kovel had only seen in pictures in their 40 years in the antiques and collectibles business, so they knew immediately that it was a rare find when they spotted one at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta.

The safe, embellished with enamel panels and perched atop a spindle-type stand with ornate feet, was in need of major restoration. Similar safes in good repair have sold at auction for upward of $8,000.
