Vintage Stoves

Terry Kovel talks with dealer David Erickson of Littleton, Mass., who purchases old stoves then refurbishes them to like-new, working condition, often more than quadrupling the value of each one. The stoves are dismantled and sandblasted, then rebuilt while the metal components are treated with new nickel plating, and the mechanics are updated to meet contemporary regulations and standards. The results are spectacular, functional and usually expensive collectibles.
